So in Reno, NV of 2011 a higher up of the city tried to have those who are considered transgender to be apart of the hate crime act here where if assaulted or any other means of serious action threatened for it, they’re legally protected.

It wasn’t denied but never brought up again.
Until Now!

As of yesterday many and many alike were thrilled to find out it was officially justified and added. Work places might not be all safe, but through law there is a bit of relief I feel.

I feel that when I work I’ll be able to Rightfully work as me openly as I was meant to and others.

Alright, so I’ve decided to be a bit more active with things in regards of my life’s transition and I’d like to start by telling my story thus far for people who may be interested.

[I began binding alone in 2010.]
In The Beginning
-I began T injections April 4th, 2011.
-Cost: $180 per Month [$45 Every Week]
-200mg. per Shot
-Therapist per Month: $115

As the law for my location: Reno, NV, in order to begin medically transitioning you have to be seeing a therapist for at least 6 months.
[Note that here it is allowed to be seeing only a General Therapist, not a specific Gender Therapist]
Now, here’s where the ‘Luck’ comes in. I got a therapist which agreed to see me if only once a month, but also keep in mind the sessions were an hour long each.
After searching I found a Dr. who worked with testosterone and transgender patients. The Dr. explained the effects, the pros and cons, and lastly asked if I was seeing a therapist. From there after filling out health paperwork, she proceeded to Only call my therapist and right from that moment prepped me for my first shot the same day. Blood work was done within the hour and soon I was out the door on my way. No letter was needed because she merely asked my therapist if I was emotionally stable.

Now my costs as of today!
-T injections as of August 8th, 2012
-Cost: $70 per Month [$35 Every Two Weeks]
-100mg. per Shot
-Therapist per Month: $100Why did it go down? As I became a regular my Dr. decided to give me a discount which after talking with her she does very often, so no worries. As for my Therapist, I decided to see a new one due to such high costs which ended up being from $115 to $130. Today I now see an actual Gender Therapist out of my own free will and cheaper pricing.

How did I get all that money?
As many find out there tends to be some sacrifices along the way of transition; loss. In my case, I was lucky overall to find out my parents set up a growing account for my schooling. With permission I was granted some of it. I’m currently enduring the loss of my future education in which I’m going for a Bachelor’s in Business Management. Due to the sum of finances taken though I won’t be able to continue until April and thus I’ll be a good year to two years behind in graduating from when I first started. [I attend a private University.] In the end I regret nothing and am happy to still be where I’m at with myself.

Surgery and Hotel Information
Me and my fiance stayed at Hotel Kabuki in San Fransisco, Ca. My surgeon was Dr. Curtis Crane who recently took over for Dr. Micheal Brownstein. Personally I recommend him to anyone and specially to larger people as he’s admitted to having quite the experience and successes with them to which it’s been said Dr. Brownstein was not exactly hands on with them as much.
